Organisations A-Z

In this alphabetical list of all organisations and practices in the Finder, you will be able to scroll down, after selecting the first letter of the group you want to explore. Clicking on the organisation name will open all the details of services they provide.

Topics A-Z

You can browse in this tab to find services grouped by topics. For example, when you type in ‘Crisis Counselling’ you will see service details for help lines, counselling services and crisis care. Note how ‘statewide’ services are listed first.

What’s new?

The Finder lists health or health prevention services offered by government, private and community organisations in South Australia accessible to the public.

Once you have found the right organisation, you are ready to explore the services they provide. You can sort the list of services alphabetically by name, or by the suburb where the service is provided, using the drop down arrow.

If the service is provided across the state its address will show as ‘statewide’

Once you have found your service click on the blue service name to find out more.

You will see a brief description of the service and two tabs:
Location and Eligibility & Costs.

The Location tab provides information that will help you

- find contact information and some organisation web site links
- opening hours
- accessibility information (eg disability toilets or parking)
- Location map
(double left click on the map to zoom in closer or double right to zoom out)

Finder will provide a list of services near the location you want, even when you have entered a suburb or town.

The Eligibility & Costs tab will help you know more about
- How to access services including referral requirements, waiting times and whether you need to make an appointment
- Age limits and if the service is relevant for you
- Any costs that may apply

How do I look up an organisation when I know its name?

1 Click on the ‘Organisations A – Z’ tab
2 Select first letter of Organisation’s full name
3 Scroll down the alphabetical list
4- Click on the organisation name
5 Click on the service name (these are blue). The search results will provide you with contact information, opening hours, disability access information, and a location map.

To find another organisation simply click on the red Organisations A – Z tab again and make your selection.

You will then see the main address and contact details and a list of services provided.

Note: if you are looking for a club or recreational activity click ‘no’ to the question ‘Exclude Sports and Recreation groups’

Searching - didn’t find what you were looking for?

Basic Searching
Type in one or two short descriptors of a service, a health condition or treatment, or the surname of a health professional. Do not use terms such as +, -, and, but, if, in.

A search for two or more words together, or a location name, can be entered in double quotation marks to refine the search eg chemotherapy "Port Pirie", or "Coober Pedy" medical, or acqua exercise "Golden Grove", or "breast pump" "Oaklands Park".

Although you can enter an organisation name in double quotation marks eg. "Independent Living Care" you can find an organisation alphabetically through a browse of the Organisations A-Z tab.

Not sure what term to use to find what you were looking for? Browse the Topics A-Z tab for key search words or call our Helpdesk on 8226 6443 for advice on search terms.

Did you get too much information?
You might like to make your search more specific by typing in more descriptors. For example ‘transport’ could be stated more specifically for your purpose, such as ‘transport to medical appointments’.

Perhaps you can isolate your search to a particular area. Once you have a set of results try entering a location within a kilometre range.

Explore the ‘Topics A-Z’ tab to refine your search to a particular subject. For example, ‘Antenatal Depression’ rather than ‘depression’, or ‘speech problems’ rather than ‘counselling’, ‘prostate cancer’ rather than ‘cancer’.

Did you get too few results?
Try changing your location to ‘statewide’ to see services that are available across the state. This will return important results for services such as medical transport, counselling, or crisis support services.

Explore the ‘Topics A-Z’ tab to refine your search to a particular subject. For example, ‘Antenatal Depression’ rather than ‘depression’, or ‘speech problems’ rather than ‘talking’.
